Dayton Children’s Hospital is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as the Program Director of Inpatient Services. Responsibilities

  • Help develop and direct the behavioral health unit and grow our proactive psychiatry service.
  • Provide initial psychiatric evaluations and follow-up medication management in consult and inpatient setting.
  • Supervise psychiatric residents and child psychiatry fellows from Wright State University
  • Provide weekend coverage to inpatient psychiatric unit: every 6-8 weeks.
  • Provide night call for psychiatric service 3-5 nights per month.
  • Oversee all aspects of our inpatient child psychiatry unit, ensuing high-quality care for patients.

Qualifications

  • Board certification or eligibility in child and adolescent psychiatry.
  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current, unrestricted medical license in the state of Ohio.
  • Minimum of 3 years post-fellowship experience.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to establish rapport with pediatric patients and their families.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.

ABOUT DAYTON CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL:

Dayton Children’s serves a pediatric population of 510,000 from a 20-county region of central and southwestern Ohio and eastern Indiana. An eight-story, 260,000-square-foot patient care tower sits in the center of the hospital’s main campus. The south campus includes a medical office building, a pediatric emergency department, an outpatient surgery center, a Sleep Lab, and Kids Express Care along with the pre-existing urgent care center.

The Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine department of pediatrics and its residency program are based at Dayton Children’s. All our physicians have the opportunity to hold faculty appointments at the Boonshoft School of Medicine and to teach medical students and residents. Residents in adult neurology, pediatrics, medicine/pediatrics, family practice, child psychiatry, emergency medicine, orthopedics, and surgery train at Dayton Children’s.
